The French Riviera
The classic coast, run on a contrarian calendar.
Everyone knows the Riviera in July. Almost nobody knows it in late September, when the water still holds twenty-four degrees, the Estérel turns copper at sunset, and the harbourmaster at Saint-Tropez answers the radio on the first call.
Our Riviera itineraries are built around the quiet weeks and the quiet hours: Pampelonne at nine in the morning, Port-Cros before the ferries, Monaco only when there is a reason.
Pair it with Corsica across the strait if you have ten days. The crossing is six hours and the reward is a different world.
